G.P. Aji Wijaya, Founding Partner

Aji Wijaya is the founder of Aji Wijaya & Co. He has more than 25 years of long-standing legal experience since 1990 and recognised as one of leading lawyer in restructuring and bankruptcy.

Aji Wijaya brought into the firm his expertise and experience of legal practices, both consulting and litigation and he has specialty in merger & acquisition, corporate structuring & restructuring, bankruptcy, capital market and banking.

Aji Wijaya holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, Jakarta, majoring in Civil, Criminal, and Procedure Law. He is also a lecturer in various Legal Training and Courses, in Association of the Indonesian Receiver and Administrator (AKPI, Asosiasi Kurator dan Pengurus Indonesia), and a trainer on Corporate Law in several multinational companies.

Aji Wijaya is a licensed advocate and a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi), the Indonesian Mining Association (IMA). He also registered as a legal consultant with the Indonesian Capital Markets and Financial Institutions Supervisory Board (BAPEPAM-LK/OJK), and a registered Receiver and Administrator with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.

Over the years, Aji Wijaya has also added to his professional development by taking courses such as a Institute of Management Education and Development (LPPM), Advance Accounting Course in 1988, Capital Market Course in 1998, and Bankruptcy Law Course in 1998.

Aji Wijaya is an active member of the the Association of Capital Market Legal Consultants (HKHPM), Association of the Indonesian Receiver and Administrator (AKPI, Asosiasi Kurator dan Pengurus Indonesia), Commissioner of the Indonesian Advocate Association (AAI), Jakarta Lawyers Club, and Indonesian Mining Association (IMA).

Aji Wijaya has become pioneer since Bankruptcy Law has been revitalized through debt restructurisation in commercial court using voluntarily delayed deb payment obligation mechanism. Aji Wjaya has become leading advocate in Indonesia especially in Bankruptcy Law and reference in every bankruptcy cases. Aji Wijaya has been successful doing debt restructurisation in commercial court wih value more than USD 4,000,000,000.

Apart than that, Aji Wijaya has been involved in major business transaction in Indonesia involving multi-national companies.

Bramasta Noviantara Girindra Wardhana joined Aji Wijaya & Co. as junior associate and became partner on May 2nd, 2014. He graduated in 2007 from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, majoring in Economic and Business Law.

He has been deeply involved in numerous major transactions related to capital markets, cross-border acquisitions, cross-border debt restructurings, investments, plantations, private power projects and project finance matters. He is also experienced in the fields of oil and gas, real estate and property (including hotels and villas), telecommunications, foreign investments and general commercial and corporate law.

Rio Kurnia Maesa joined Aji Wijaya & Co. on April 2009. He graduated and obtained his law degree from the Faculty of Law, Trisakti University majoring in Law Practitioner and earned his Master of Laws degree from University of Indonesia, majoring in Economic Law.

Rio’s main areas of practices include state aministrative dispute (mining concession, plantation), civil law, bankruptcy, arbitration, labor law, and family law. Rio is a member of Indonesian Bar Association (PERADI) and also a registered Receiver & Administrator from Association of the Indonesian Receiver and Administrator (AKPI).

Rio played a key role and has successfully restructured USD 980,000,000 outstanding debt in PKPU proceeding in commercial court.

Rifki Febriadi is an Associate of Aji Wijaya & Co. and one of the Firm’s litigation specialists. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia. Mr. Febriadi’s main practices are litigation, dispute resolution and general civil law cases. Some of his major clients’ background include mining, investments, transportation services, etc. He is also well-versed in employment law and family law.

Mr. Febriadi has also dealt with many cases having concentration in the field of bankruptcy and suspension of payment (PKPU). He is a Receiver and Administrator and a member of the Indonesian Bar Association (PERADI). He speaks Indonesian and English.

Pradana Paska joined Aji Wijaya & Co. in April 2010. He is working in both Firm’s Division (Corporate and Litigation Division). He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, in 2010, and earned his Master of Laws degree from Leiden University, The Netherlands in 2012, majoring in International Business Law.

Pradana main areas of practice include general corporate transaction, corporate restructure, debt restructuring and has been deeply involved in numerous major cases related to bankruptcy & suspension of debt payment obligation (PKPU).

Pradana played a key role and has successfully restructured USD 980,000,000 outstanding debt in PKPU proceeding in commercial court.

Yusriza Abdullah P. is an associate in the Corporate Division of Aji Wijaya & Co. He graduated and obtained his law degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Padjadjaran (UNPAD) majoring in Economic Law (2008-2012). He is currently continuing his study at University of Indonesia for Master degree, majoring in Business Law.

In Aji Wijaya & Co., he is assigned in assisting clients from various sectors, especially Corporate & Commercial matters such as, investment, property, retail, sports, music industry, bankruptcy, general banking, et cetera.

Yusriza Abdullah P. has passed the Indonesian Bar Exam organized by Indonesian Bar Association (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia or PERADI).

Dida obtained his law degree from Indonusa Esa Unggul University in 2003 and a master degree (business law) from University of Indonesia in 2006. He is a member of the Indonesian Bar Association (PERADI) since 2008 and also a registered Receiver & Administrator from AKPI. He is in process of his capital market license from Himpunan Konsultan Hukum Pasar Modal (HKHPM).

His main areas of practice include commercial litigation, bankruptcy & suspension of debt payment obligation, arbitration and criminal litigation.

In Aji Wijaya & Co., he is assigned in assisting clients from various sectors such as mining, investment, property, retail, sports, music industry, et cetera. Dian Permana’s main areas of practice include general corporate transaction, corporate restructuring and mining industry.

Dian Permana has passed the Indonesian Bar Exam organized by Indonesian Bar Association (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia or PERADI). He speaks Indonesian and English.

Sunarto Yudonarpodo graduated from the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in 1971, and earned his Master of Laws degree from The School of Law, Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in 1985, majoring in Comparative and International Law. Prior to earning his master degree, he also attended a post graduate study in the Notary Public sciences at the University of Indonesia, and an “Orientation in the US Legal System” at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Sunarto’s career with multi-national companies include field ex- perience of 25 years working for three different major American companies operating in Indonesia in the industries of insurance, oil & gas, and mining, respectively, as in-house counsel at senior executive positions, including the positions of Legal Counsel of IIAPCO (Independent Indonesian American Petroleum Company), a subsidiary of NATOMAS Company, San Francisco, then General Counsel of Maxus SES, a subsidiary of Maxus Energy Corporation (formerly Diamond Shamrock Corporation) of Dallas, Texas, and later Director & Executive Vice President of PT Freeport Indonesia, subsidiary of Freeport McMoRan of New Orleans, of Louisiana (NYSE “FCX”).

He used to be one of the two Founding Partners of Law Firm Aji Wijaya, Sunarto Yudo & Co., the predecessor of Aji Wijaya & Co. As a lawyer, he specializes in mineral resources, insurance, oil & gas, investment (both corporate matters and litigation). He is in possession of an Attorney License issued by the Department of Justice in 1976, and members Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI), and Jakarta Lawyers Club. He used to be members of various professional organizations, i.e. Indonesian Mining Association (IMA), Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA), Indonesian Oil & Gas Lawyers Association (ISHMEI), Indonesian Insurance Lawyers Association (PAHAI), Indonesian Legal Consultants Association (AKHI), and AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce) and LAWASIA (Asia Pacific Law Association).

Sunarto wrote and presented papers in various local and international forum, in Indonesia or overseas, inter alia on: “Legal, Contracts, Insurance and Risk Management Aspects in the Oil & Gas Industry” (1989); “Promotion of Mining Investment in Indonesia: Investor Partnership with the Indonesian Government under the Contract of Work” (Vancouver and Toronto, Canada, 1993); “Legal Aspects in the Mineral Industry”, in the 4th Asia-Pacific Mining Conference 1994; “Legal & Investment Aspects of the Mining Industry in Indonesia”, in the 5th Asia Pacific Mining Conference, 1995; “Overlapping Laws and Regulations in Indonesian Mining Sector, and Recommended Solution” in the Indonesian Mining Conference, 2007.

Eresendi Winaharta is an of counsel of Aji Wijaya & Co. He graduated and obtained his law degree from the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, majoring in Civil Law.

As an of counsel of Aji Wijaya & Co., while previously was a Partner, his expertise is in general litigation covering commercial, criminal, state administrative disputes and international arbitration. Although he was a Partner in litigation, his expertise shall include in the areas of mining, plantation, investment, property, et cetera.

Eresendi Winaharta has obtained his BAR license in 2003 and also a member of the Indonesian Bar Association (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia or PERADI).
